55g cichlid tank

hey, i've am getting a 55 gallon tank with everything included for £30!!!

i was wondering if there is any cool type of cichlids (agressive preferably) that i can put in it?

i dont mind plenty of water changes if its a bit cramped

i dont want fish that are little, i am looking to put either 2 or 3 fish in, although assuming it will have to be 2...what could i have?

what are the dimensions, the same as a standard 55 US gallon or are you talking 55 UK gallons?

55 doesn't give you a whole lot of stock options..

what kind of filtration are you going to be using? Filtration is going to be the key if you're overstocking.

well it's just got an internal filter in it at the moment, but i intend getting these fish between 2 to 3 inch....

i will buy an fx5 or eheim equivelent in about a months time...

you could get away with one or the other for a bit.. then you'll need to upgrade tanks.

I've seen a pair of JDs in a 55 before.. seemed ok and healthy, but the guy did eventually upgrade to a bigger tank.

wrong way around, 55 UK gallons is approx 66 US gallons.

going by gallons is not such a great way to get stocking suggestions. dimensions are far better and in this case needed because your talking 55 UK gallons which means the tank is slightly bigger than a standard US 55g.

post up the dimensions.
