I think you actually have an overstocking problem not an understocking problem. I had the same problem in my tank i had only 6 in a 55 gallon and had aggression problems so i added a bunch. I have since lost:
1 Electric yellow killed by duboisi
1 Duboisi killed by his own damn self because of eating electric yellow
1 red peacock killed by johanni
1 boreyli killed by basically everyone
1 demasoni killed by auratus

Now the rest get along and don't fight at all they have found the level they like and are all ok. Its a mix of extremely aggressive fish and some mild mannered ones but they have all adapted. The difference is only 2 of mine will reach 6 inches. You have a lot of fish that get on the bigger side for africans thats probably why they are not getting along to well.

Adding what you did and keeping them in a 55 is going to be a water change nightmare. I think adding those is just going to make the aggression problem worse.

i agree completly... they are feeling to cramped in that little 55g. get a 110+ and they will swim circles with joy. just my advice im no expert just my personal experiance.. 150g would be even better.

They are doing fine atm but i just added them yesterday. And i have good filtering on my tank i have a over the back 30/60 and a eheim canister

Ok. I love overstocking but you will have problems with the frontosas, milomo and the ahli they get very large!! The frontosa wont be able to turn in that tank! I first had a 55 gal with 30 cichlids with no problem but they were small and didnt have any problem yet. But I did that cause i knew i was going to buy a 125 gal that i now have. My advise is that with frontosas and milomo you will have to sell them when they get bigger or get a bigger tank. But right now if you like your tank and dont have agression problems keep the good work its your tank and your fishes you are the one thats got to enjoy it!! Good Luck. Please post some pictures of the tank!

Good points...I was actually thinking the Frontosa is kinda out of place with some of those Malawi Cichlids.....But, different fish work in different situations...I am not passing judgment. Keep us posted!!!!!
