Just purchased a 55g for only 60.00 with a stand and lighting, but no filter, substrate, air pump, powerhead, or heating. This is going to be an African tank that will house a 6" Butti and some Mbuna. What do you guys recommend as far as substrate, filtration, etc? Just pretend it was your tank and what would you do?
I was thinking black background and white sand...I am still new to the hobby roughly 6 months. Ive been reading about filters on here and people have been talking about AC110's and Emp 400s, stealth heaters, etc. What is the best site as far as pricing goes I can purchase filtration, heating, etc on?
