I just decided to set up a 55 g Pbass tank. (no need to worry i have a 120 g for when they grow up) but my real question is what bedding should i put in the tank? rocks? gravle? sand? i plan on aranging live plants and drift wood... what is the best way to go?

any opinion is appreciated.

i personally like sand more.

get pfs aka pool filter sand. the sand is much heavier than the play sand, etc and now it doesnt screw up the filter.

and im not experienced with pbass, do they disturb the live plants ??
i know my oscars tore them up and ripped them to shreds. and does the sand make a difference with the sand? are there specifit plants to stay away from or are they all fine with sand?

i actually used pool filter sand with HOB filters and both stopped working, not sure if it burnt out the motors or clogged the propellers but they wouldn't work after cleaning out well, I decided to get a canister filter and didn't have a problem with it.

Uhm not sure about the plants.. never really had live plants in my tank, just fake.

PUt some new panty hose over the intake of your filter if using sand. A 55g is a good growout....a 120g is a growout as well. Pbass get much bigger....a 240 is a minimum tank size. Cichla(pbass), need warmer water than oscars...best kept at 86.
