due to a pretty good deal from this past weekend. i acquired some pretty decent filtration from a larger tank. the bigger tank was a 125 w bulkheads that the previous owner sealed up. i will be using a sump for that tank when its all set up. anyways, right now im turning my 55 about 15.5 times an hour. i have an ac110 and rena xp3, and i could add another 300gph with the original filter ( an ac70) if need be, but i think i have plenty now. the tank has been set up for about 6 months w a few african cichlids. i lost interest in that until now because i got a 120 and was stocking that. so, i would like to finish it with a heavily stocked tank since i have the filtration to do so, the tank is already cycled and im ready to buy fish. should i get more africans? or stock it with something else. ive always had an interest in piranhas, what about that? just looking for some cool ideas of unique fish and their tankmates. thanks !

wolf?
cherax destroctors with some fast fish?
exodons?

you have to realize that piranha's are not as viscous as they are meant out to be, but are actually skittish, you have to appreciate piranha's for what they truly are if you are going to get them.

i know this, ive just always wanted some. not real sure why, because thats the one thing i dont like about them is how skittish they are, i guess i like their looks. or i was thinking about getting a different species.

im not real crazy about the wolf cuz i know you can only keep them by themselves and i want a stocked aquarium

i like the cherax, i never really put much thought into one of them, i think rick's had them a few months ago

the exadons seem perfect. just gotta find some somewhere and make sure i can afford about 12+ of these guys.

thanks alot

I enjoy my piranhas but they are pretty boring. The most interesting part is watching them grow and noticing how beautiful (at least to me) they can be. Of course they look like pissed off bulldogs in the face... but they get lovely colors as they grow and they change when they start to mature.
