So I just got rid of all my monsters (4 oscars and 15" plec). All that's left is the Carpintis. My question is, what do you think would be a good tank mate for the Tex? I was thinking of either adding two more (1 M, 1 F) or maybe some Firemouths. I'm open to other suggestions though. Help me out! :D

Carpintis are not texas.. And I would not put anything else in with it. Once full grown it will need something bigger too. With those species, in that small of a tank, hell will break loose if you add more.

Get a new hobby man...

Why do you think I got rid of them genius? It wasn't my choice to house them in there. I saved them from a bad household and was keeping them in my 55 for the time being. They are now going to a 220g home.

Well mine isn't nearly full grown. It's probably about 3.5". :grinno: But I read up that they only get about 20cm full grown. I guess I was given false information.

A female will most likely top out at 8", but a male will deffinately get larger though not all will actually make the 12" mark, but I would expect at least 10" for a male.

Convenient since I should be upgrading to a 125g eventually. How long does it typically take for one to grow ~5".
