I know this stressed them ALOT, but I have to do it to in order to make an exact measurement...

They are ALOT bigger than I expected, and sadly they killed my baby black pacu...

Anyway, is it possible to keep them in a 55G tank for a few years??? Welcome on any comment and input!

;)

They are natteri right? ^^

It depends on who many reds you are planning to keep in a 55gal.

I think you can keep 4 of them as much but not any more without compromising water quality and good life conditions for your reds.

Cheers.

I can tell you right now if your looking for an exact measurement (not sure why this is so important) you are measuring incorrectly.

A 55 gallon will work for a few years. No guarentee that your fish will though....there is always the possibilty of cannabalism. Even more so when the space limited. Keep your eye open for a good deal on a bigger set up.

Good colors!

since you took those pics from the future (date 26/02/2012) I'm going to say those 3 rbps you have will be fine since when you took the pics they were still alive. :)

Ive tried it, and my fish werent even that big, they bounced off the walls in a 55 so much. I fed em cichlid gold they werent skittsh really, but man when they would run around they bounced off every piece of glass.

55 is too small for any pygo I think

How long did it take for them to reach their size? What size were they when you got them?

I just got them at that size... (2 days ago)

Those 3 red belly + one 4.5" sanchezi for $50

cause I want to sell them

I bought them, because I was interested in the 6" gold rhom, (part of the red belly shoal) but sadly he didn't make it
