I recently purchased a 55 gal tank. I'm setting it up for an African Cichlid tank... but I maybe interested in turning it into a predator tank..
What are some fish that I can have in there?

Im the exact opposite, unless its a massive tank (500g) I'm not interested in Africans at all. I prefer 1 big fish with lots of personality over lots of smaller fish. If you don't like one fish tanks the anwser is upgrading to larger tanks.Dreamsofpeace54;816572; said:i love the africans i have in my 46 gallon. They never fail to amuse me. Single speciman tanks bore me. So keeping a bunch of africans has really entertained my needs. Oh and the colors are just wonderful especially againt a blackground.

Otherwise, I think couple african cichlids would go great in a 55. You might even want to try some south american cichlids instead. Many of them such as Jack Dempseys and Salvini's are very aggressive and could be considered "predators." They wouldn't outgrow a 55 either. If you're into the "oddballs," get some senegal bichirs and an African brown knifefish. Cool looking fish that are definately predators.
