So I'm currently running a Rena XP3 and a Fluval 304 on my 55 Gallon, with a very light bioload.
I've been using both mechanical and biological media in both filters for the past 6 months, and go thinking to myself, why don't I just use one for mechanical, and the other for biological? You'd think maintenance would be much easier this way.
So, from personal experience, do I load the XP3 with bio, or mechanical? And the 304? I have an idea, but looking for some ideas here.
