I am obtaining my ultimate dream fish on Thursday - a red tailed catfish. I have been eyeballing this giant of all giants for 15 years and it is finally my time to shine. I will be obtaining a 3-4" specimen.
I have a 565g 8ft round by 18" deep above ground pool to grow him out in until he moves to the 11x8x2ft 900g pool to continue growing out. An 18x9x4.5 is predecessing that. But back to the 565....
Due to his current size, I am taking my time building some large filtration. I have a couple brute bins ordered to create giant canister filters from. In the meantime, I have two 1585gph wavemakers on the way. Despite years and the few solid days of research on these guys, I'm having trouble finding information regarding whether or not they like a high current. My biggest reason behind ordering them was to try and avoid gill curl but I feel like the pool size alone will aid in that.
Thoughts? Opinions?
