recently i found on my street a nice looking 5 g bowfront tank sitting at the side of the road with someones garbage. It looked in good condition so i decided to carry it home and see if i could use it for something.

it holds water so now i just need ideas on what to put in it. I was thinking a shrimp tank with a bunch of plants or maybe a guppy tank. But what about some more unusual ideas? i need to hear them.

hopefully something thats nice to look at but unique in it's own right as well.

so any ideas ?

oh yeah it will be filtered by a HOB that turns over 180 GPH so overstocking is very possible.

Bumblebee gobies.
Dwarf puffer.
One badis badis.
Moth catfish.

OH do a Sulawesi themed tank! Get some shrimp and some rabbit snails. Sulawesi are awesome but usually expensive and difficult to care for. If you want less of a challenge I suggest malawa shrimp. They are from Sulawesi but easier to care for. They are breeding faster than my cherry shrimp.

180gph..not a great idea.. if there is something that likes current then o well but thats alot of water movement... the plants might not be able to stay in the gravel. but i think pearl celestial danios would be cool with shrimp.

i take it i could only have 1 dwarf puffer right ?

do they munch on plants at all? Because im considering having a planted tank and a dwarf puffer would certainly make an intresting sole inhabitant if they don't do damage to plants.

lol i was just thinking this ill just have to see if it's too much current but i can awlasy put in some tiny peices of driftwood to create dead spaces.

you could have a dwarf puffer but theyre freshwater so you couldnt have them with bumblebee gobys..
you could have a dwarf puffer and probaly some dwarf cory catfish

yes i know gobies are brackish i was just wondering about the puffers.

a single dwarf puffer is starting to seem like a cool idea.

I would personally be a little afraid of that 180 gph filter on such a small tank.. that makes for a very strong current
