Hi,

Just wanted to make my 5th post and become a real member. I have a bit of experience in fish keeping (12yrs), mostly with SA/CA cichlids. I currently have around 475 gals up and running right now.

Anybody have any questions? I'm willing to offer some advice or something to help another member out.

Great website BTW.

please share pix!:D

Hey,

Is it any easier to share pics on this site? Or do I still need to upload to another site and all of that hassle?

Also, why do I still not have full privelages?

Cheers

it will take a few for the server to update
you do need to upload them but you can use the mfk gallery which is free and easy. Check out the frequently asked questions and it will walk you through the steps

Hi Saku welcome to MFK

So what you keeping in you 475gal ? SA and CA cichlids ?

Yeah post pic's if you have them in the PHOTO LOUNGE !!

Hi,

90gal
12-13" TL Midas
Convicts varying sizes
7" Rhino Pleco
6" Striped Raphael

50 gal growout
3-4" green sev
3-4" orange pike
2.5" Salvini
3 x 3" Jurapari

30 Gal Growout
3" Oscar
2" Firemouth
4 x 2" Bristlenose Plecos

75 Gal
6" Yellow Bellied Cooter
5" Convict
4" Spotted Raphael
4" Bristlenose

300 gal empty for now (filled with water, but no fish), putting the finishing touches on it. Growouts to go in there. Will be adding more fish and perhaps removing some as things develop.

I guess that equals 575gals, but the 75 isn't completely filled and the 300 has no fish so..... I guess 475 gals was a fair enough estimate.

I'm going to make an effort to post some pics once the 300 has some fish in it and is aquascaped a little. However, I hate the uploading to other sites thing. I'll read the FAQ's and try to figure out the MFK gallery option. Maybe I'll try to post a pic or two of the Midas as a test, not tonight though - I'll be watching the hockey game!

Cheers

Actually, I've considered an aro, but there are two things holding me back. I'm not so sure it would do so well with the cichlids I plan on putting in there and I am having a hard time finding a black aro, which is the only one I would consider. I'm not interested in mixing fish from different hemispheres, so the Knife is out. I had planned on only doing SA, but that is out now. I'm also considering Pbass as well. Lots of factors to think about. Planning is half of the fun anyway.........

On the pic front, it seems like it might be pretty easy to upload pics to this site. I'll try to post a midas pic tonight and a pic of the 300 empty with my cat in it (he's a Bengal).

P.S. A 100gal is kind of small for an aro, unless you plan on upgrading again. Not judging, JMO.
