Hi All
Can anyone please tell me i had 5 (6inch) temensis some are with gr8 dots and other so less dots.ie less dots is female and more dotes is male??
or is there any others way to ident them??
thanks in advance any inputs would be helpfull and highly appreciated.:WHOA:

at that size its going to be hard.... you cannot tell male/female from coloration you have to vent them..

lol you cant know for sure if you have a male/female in any cichla specie without venting. If your LFS just said there male/female >.> (hes stupid).. but the lack of spangling on on tem to another cooul be alot of things water conditions, one may have more territory then other producing a alpha tem (more spangling). or just genetics of this fish come to play too.

Can't tell sex of pbass till they are vented around 10", they spawn, or when one develops a nuchal hump.

Do Temensis get large nuchal humps? Of all the pictures I've seen I've never seen one with a big hump like I've monos and ocellaris...? Just wondering.

I agree. only mono and ocel and others kinds of P/bass have humped ( as i saw them myself.... "seeing is believing) but for temenis the only way to tells a difference between female and male is that, the male usually have elongated body and abit fatter than the female. "correct me if iam wrong" that what my friend said is well. he had a pair of tem size male 45cm(22") female slightly smaller. but since his male jumped out from tank, and he is give up to his hoppies. and sold the female for $850(aus dollar)
thanks guys greats inputs and advices.....seeking more advices.....cheers
