Quick question for ya ray experts, how long can a pair of BD pups stay in a 5x36x13"Tall tank and until how big? I know the tank is shallow but Lmk, I'm only asking

Thanks

From my experience I would say close on 2 years.
Not ideal, especially if it is a male female but it's doable. I have a male female BD bred by myself that are both around 12" maybe a little bigger, the male is 18 months and the female around 8 months, both same size.

I think you can keep them in there longer if you have a bigger sump or a drip since there isn't a lot of water to disperse the ammonia

I will have a large sump running on it.... Thanks guys for the Infos, I will put my pair BD in there so I can watch them

I have my bd in a 6x3 but then again the height is 2 .......you should be fine ....how large is ur sump?

I have a 5x36x24 but I got some big 12-14" kelberi in there and have two that are always laying eggs, I'm only keeping the BD pair in the 5x36x13Tall until they get bigger, that's my plan

I have a large Eshopps 300 wet dry sump with 600 bioballs total in there

The reason I said big sump was to add more water volume.....a 300 Eshops wet dry is not going to add that much water. The 5x36x13 tank is around 120 gallons which isn't much water to disperse ammonia for 2 rays......you can use this tank but your going to have to do a lot of water changes......if they are new born pups u would be fine for close to a year but ur gonna have problems after
