I have six cherry shrimp that are about half an inch long. How long before i can sex them and breed them? I dont know the age since i won them at an auction

You should be able to tell the sex of them now. The easiest way is that females have the "saddle", and are usually a brighter red. Also the "tail" area of the female will be larger to hold the eggs. Males have a more streamlined "tail"

The males often times don't have nearly the pigmentation of the females and are very white. If you have all red there is a pretty good chance that you have all girls. As tai stated you should have been able to tell by now. If you have them in a tank with out any preds the babies are quite easy to rear. They don't have a plantonic stage.

It sucks that you don't have a camera to use so you can get pictures onf them.

ya it does, in case u r wondering when we were in NY this summer, i accidentally deleted all the pictures on the camera so my dad forbid me from ever touching his camera ever again.
