Hi everyone,
New guy on the block when it comes to big tanks.

I have a ground level bonus room I plan to put a 240g tank in.
The tank will house South and Central American Cichlids.

I have the option to either purchase a 8x2x2 or 6x2.5x2.5 from Glasscages.com as they are only a half hours drive away.

What would be the best route to take? Long, short tank or a short, tall tank.

Thanks,
Joey

For what you are putting in it, Id say 8 ft. That's actually the same tank I have. I also happen to have the same type of fish in it too.

Eight footers are truely Monster tanks. I would pay the extra and get the 8 footer in the 30" width.

Unless you need the extra depth, go 8ft.

I like the look of the 6' ones better, but for more natural fish behavior, I think the 8' gives them more room to really "stretch their fins", so to speak ;)

For those fish, assuming you have the room, I'd go with the 8' as well.

8 footer all the way!
