I have a 6 inch jardini that i recently purchased from lfs and he is in a tank with a lil blue lobster i got him this past sunday and hes not really showing interest in eating and when the lights on the tank go on he stays in the corner of the tank swimming in circles and it seems as if he is stressing any suggestions of what could be happening

How big is your tank?

If he is new I would keep the tank dark for a few days and give him some floating plants for cover. Along with blacking out the sides of the tank all these things will help in making your aro comfy!

yea i try to keep the light off as much as possible and hes diet has been the best he ate yesterday but not today his tail looks a lil lower

:iagree:

Is the blue lobster meant to be food? If not it will be.

did you say you bought him recently? if so, dont worry.. he still has not totally adopted to the new environment.. just follow the advices given above like the lights, blacking the sides of the tank(backside and the bottom would suffice) and other stuff..

the blue lobster is not suppose to be food he mainly stays in his cave but comes out every now and then he is a good size he was in a tank with some mbunas and was picking on them but with the jardini they just keep to themselves. Today i kept the tank in total darkness and peeked in and saw he was swimming around pretty good. This is my first aro i keep moba frontosas so this is a new ball game to me any help and suggestions would be great!

He will grow out of it , he is still skittish right now because of the new environment, I say give him time and he will be eating like a monster! I remembered mine used to being like that, now he is so used to it when I come home from work , before and after, he'll swim to the glass and beg for food by swimming up and down in the same place... good luck!

Mine did not eat for the first week and kind of hung out on one side of the tank he was bought at 4 inches and now pushing 22 inches
