i put a 6 inch piraya and a 8in. cariba in a 75 gallon tank. the cariba has been beatin the hell outta the piraya for a lil while qht do i do?, the tank has plenty of space, plenty of filtration, plenty of places to hide. the cariba would rather attack the piraya then eat...but the piraya swims right up to him..? would a 90g fix this??

No you have only two piranha, buy at least one or two or a couple same size pygos(even reds would work) to add to the two you have to spread aggression..

Or at the very least go to home depot to the lighting section and get eggcrate and make a divider.

bringing 1 back where u got it may work:confused:

Caribe are known as very aggressive and the most torrietories out of all pygo family. Pygo do well in group, it's very bad ideas to have 2 pygo in the same tank. They will fight over torritories, aggression.

Here is some suggestion from me

1. add 1 more pgyo. Pygo do better in a group of 3 or more.

2. Lower down the temp, piranha are not active and agressive with low temp.

3. if you want to keep both of the, get a divider

4. sell 1 of them and keep solo pygo (i would keep the caribe)

good luck.

You should get a red and make it 1 of each!! lol

Seriously though, you need to add 1 or 2 more fish, Reds seem to be the least territorial out of the 3, so I'd go with 2 of those.

ok, seems like adding one more pygo may fix things..but how big should he be, 8 inches or 6 inches. Also what should i do w. the piraya hes beaten up pretty good

id wait and get the piraya back to heath first,if hes beaten up like you said what ever you add will most probally take him out as well being that piranhas attack the weak.
partition him of or hospital tank, then when hes fit add the extra fish,

yep, either make a divider and get the piraya back to health or put him in a seperate healing tank. Then get him all back to 100% and buy another pygo or two.

Do you have another tank or hospital tank? I would take the piranha and treat him with salt and malefix until he heal up first before you add another pygo to the tank.

When you add another pygo in the tank, make sure you take all pygo out from the tank, redecorate and reset up your tank, introduce the piranha the same time.

when you do that...be sure to leave the light off for a couple of hours or so. add some salt in, salt won't hard them.
