6 inch rocket gar 30 bucks?

Is that a decent deal? Saw it at my LFS yesterday and never heard of the fish but went home did research and seems like a vooc top dwellling fish which is what I've been looking for.

This store is notorious for high prices though so I don't want to get ripped off.
 
I’ve seen bigger go for that price.

It's going to depend on your area, you wanna be aware the wolf will likely grow fast than it though..

I'm asking some contacts I know how much they can get it for. Actually this gar is going in a different 125 without any aggressive fish. Well there is a dolphin cichild about 4 inches which is pretty mean.

Can be kept solo. Just keep some floating plants in case it gets stressed. No aggressive tankmates.
 
Just wanted to add to this as I was at the LFS while posting. So the manager didn't want to sell it to me because my 125 is not large enough. I specifically said I have a 220 but it would not be set up until fish growth occurs. Then they say it's a schooling fish and it would probably die from being alone therefore they could not honor the 48 hour warranty period. I found this to be bull s*. They said come back tomorrow as we may get more. I say listen I already came on Tuesday went home and did research and now your asking me to make another trip out here. I said that's not happening.

Thank you to KNO4TE for the quick response otherwise I may have not pulled the trigger.

Something felt shady about the worker and the 2 managers talking me out of the sale. Odd.
