6 month old Senegal bichir

I got this bichir may 31st. He was 3". He now measures around 9.5-10"

U got unusually lucky man ... Most sens don't have good enough genes to hit 10" at all let alone in 6 months

Mine grew fast to 8 inches and stopped now, has been getting girth, but going by his head size he's done.. Lucky

Thank you he eats a lot and a large variety diet. Wish I could add some more but he eats them and my starter tank has two small pike in for now

Mine stopped at about 8" too. I have a young abino that's about 4" now but is growing pretty fast and may be on track to hit 8" in the next several months. It is rare to see one much over 10". Have you put it next to a ruler to get an accurate measurement?

About 6 years ago, I got lucky and saw one labeled as dinosaur eel, it was about 10-11 inches, a female. It's what got me into more exotic fish. Before that my favorite fish was a rainbow shark, now it's wolffish lol. It opened a new world to me. Wish I still had her, lost her to a crazy like cichlid, lost a lot of fish cause of that guy, had to move him on. Great fish, hope it grows some more for you even.
