Hi, I'm fairly new to freshwater(normally reef tanks). I'm setting up a 60 gallon cube 24x24x24, and I'm not sure what to stock it with. It will have a eheim 2217 and a sump with about 400gph. So plenty of filtration for what ever I chose. I like amazon style tanks, I like Oscars(although I know are too big). I do like cichlids however I'm not sure I want to fill my tank with Rock caves, I'd prefer Fake Plants, sand, and drift wood. I thought maybe one Green terror, or one monster and a few bottom dwellers. Any ideas? I thought maybe native tank, however bluegills/sunfish aren't my thing. I want more of a swampy amazon style Bass or pike tank (not brackish). Ideas welcome, and pics very welcome.:)

i think one flowerhorn can live in there for some time.

Would a firemouth be ok with cory cats or dwarf plecos? I really do like bottom dwellers. I'd do a tank with just them, but I'm looking for a mid swimmer. Any types of dwarf bass?

I have firemouths with corys and they don't bother them. Be careful when the dominate male though cause he will run the tank. For the most the corys do their part and the firemouths go about theirs. If you want mid swimmers you should look into Africans.

Firemouths are my favorite cichlid. They are beautiful, not too aggressive, and cool. I have a pair of them in a 55.
