I'm about to have an empty 60gallon tank, 30"x31"x15" (LxWxH), rimless tank. It will be freshwater with an XP3 and/or AC 70 on it for filtration.

What would you put in this tank? Just curious as what people would do with a somewhat odd shaped tank. I have a general idea at the moment, but things can always change!

That's the tank I want for my living room, I have a community consisting of cory cats a blue gourami, and an about plumb sized fancy pearl scale gold fish...I would add dojo loaches if I upgraded the tank size from current (25g).

Hmmm... I would say have it aquascaped with lots of hight-light, small carpet plants. Being so shallow, it will be easier (and cheaper) to provide light for those plants. Then add a nice, big school of your favourite tetra/rasbora/other small schooling fish! A hanging light for this would be awesome.

Another idea I like is to have it sitting 'lower', on a shorter stand, so that people can view the aquarium from above as well. Then, stock it with 3-5 top view goldfish! TVR, celestials, butterflies, whatever floats your boat!

The dimensions would work well for a coral set up as well (again with that light thing).

FW - plant it up and go with micro fish and shrimp. might even look into adding a newt or 2 or maybe a siren. deffinately think "Bog".

SW- small reef. def do a top-view type tidepool get-up.

That a cool tank! I have seen many coral reef tanks in that type of "cube". As far as what to put in it, I agree with Nomi, "whatever floats your boat"

With a tank like that, I would spend some time and thought on some nice aquascaping before you put the fish in.

No matter what you decide, make sure you take some pics and post them!!!!
