Hey guys I just got a odyssea 60 gallon bow front tank it had a built in filtration system that I didn't like at all so I ripped it out and bought a emperor 400 for it. I cut out a space to hide it, turned out really nice ill post pictures soon. I was wondering about stocking fish, I have 2 months before I go back to school to decide what I will be stocking it with. I was originally planning on doing a cichlid tank, but I am very open to stocking suggestions. I want an interesting tank. Would I be able to keep a gold datnoid? or maybe a sting ray tank? The tank has a little more depth (front to back) to it than a standard 55 gallon. Any ideas would be great thanks :D

seems a little small for rays or dats, but I would go with a cichlid tank, possibly a pair or 2 of smaller Central American species, like Thorichthys mixteco and something else

there's plenty of cool stuff if you don't want cichlids, maybe even a brackish tank, get a couple of archers

I think im still going to try keeping a dat they just look really appealing to me. When im out of college ill be upgrading to a bigger tank so I think it will work for now. If you guys have any more suggestions I am open to them. Thanks Cichlaholic

If you wanted a peaceful tanks, go with all Peacocks. Or if you wanted something more aggressive you could go with all Mbunas.

I like bow front tanks, I will look forward to seeing whatever you choose.

Thanks for the ideas I'm running errands today in san antonio and I'm going to visit 2 lfs which look to be promising ill see what they have. Ill be sure and post pictures.
I was also thinking of maybe

clown loaches
knife fish
pleco

I have a while to decide (2 months) I just seem to have quite a few options and wanted everyones opinion.

you got pics yet?

and IMO.. dorm tank = green spot puffer... simply because "chicks dig cute fish"
