Hey guys I had a question regarding a build I am in the midst of. I am building a 600 gallon (120x48x24) tank and wanted to know if it was possible to have a plywood bottom waterproofed with pond armour and acrylic sides, front, back, top. I saw the king of diy do a similar build with glass. I'm interested in virtually doing the same thing except acrylic instead of glass. I see he had a plywood base with 1x1s bording the plywood and all covered in pond shield. Then he silicones the glass directly to the pond shield. Is there a way to do this with acrylic? I really like the look and feel of the pond shield and am going to be having a barebottom and I think it would look great this way if possible.

It sounds that the look is important to you, otherwise you could use a thin acrylic and solid support for the bottom pane.

I'd look into Dow 795, 3M3200, and Gold Label Aquarium and Pond Sealer/Silicone (available in Europe it seems). Whichever adheres the best to both acrylic and pond shield. Dow 795 should work AFAIK.
