Ok my plans are set for spring time to do a 8' long by 4' wide by 30" tall. I will be doing smaller shark species in this tank with other various fish that get along. My question to all salt water people out there is what filtration would u put on this size tank. Its a first for me. Please list motors, pumps, uv sterilizer (if u would put one on), protein skimmer, sump(s) etc. The tank will be an island in the living room area. Viewable from both sides so im thinking of putting the overflow in the center of tank.

Thank you

for that size tank i would do atleast a 180 gallon wet dry sump and as far as skimmers go i reaky dont know u mght want to look into a custum for that size tank.

ATB skimmer or a bubble magnus if your on a budget also worth looking into reef ocotopus super blasters or w.e they are called over there.

sump id aim for a 180 or 220. wet and dry lots of live rock, dsb, refuge and skimmer.

then just more lr in the tank and some flow.

I have never kept sharks but many people suggest using the pool sand bed filter.
