So I got a 600 gallon water storage unit used for water changes on all 5 of my tanks. Based on my calculations it will take 16 hours to fill. I plan on using it every 2 to 3 days. Is that too long for the water to sit without running current through it (dont want the water to go stale)

Also any ideas on how to keep the water aerated if I do decide to add some flow? Water storage unit will be outside which complicates running constant power and having the water turned over as I dont want a extension cord permanently run to it. My thought was having a battery powered blubber or having a pump turn on once every couple hours for a couple of minutes on a timer if I do decide to run a extension cord.

Water should be fine for a while. Beware of algae keeping it outside tho. If you were to aerate it though I would suggest having an air pump inside and running the airline outside vs a cord. Less likely to damage anything that way and airline is far less obtrusive and easier to hide

Good advise on algea I bought a green tarp to wrap around it to help prevent algea growth.
