I just bought a 600 gallon tank!

Anyways, I currently have one 2 inch male dovii and one 2 inch male managuense. They get along fine in the 55 gallon(temporary). They will go to the 600g as soon as they get 5-6 inches. But, I don't only want two cichlids in the 600 gallon. I was thinking maybe an umbee? Possibly a festae and buttikoferi? Not sure what to get, that it why I am asking you.
Please give me some idea's...thx

get whatever u desire. everyone has different opinion and fav fish. with a tank that size you can pretty much get anything u want.

not sure what type of fish your into. but maybe a few large fish for focal point. then get a school of say 20+ silver dollars or wide bars. something that schools nicely? i personally dont like fish just scattering around swimming all over. so i would def get a nice school of fish that swims in group. makes the tank a lot better to watch.

black belts, midas, chancho, zonatus, bifa, red devil, trimac etc etc like the other guy said you could try a few combos with that tank size but nothing is for sure even with a tank that big, ask me how i know lol... when the dovii gets big it could wipe everyone out or it could tolerate some of them. how do you know its a male dovii? any pics of the 600?

What ever you decide to get if you are going to pull of a community tank with a dovii or umbee don't get them a female. The tankmates may be ok with pairs but big doviis and umbees are way to destructive as a pair. I'm not saying it's not possible but much more unlikely. My self I would go for some type of vieja. They are colorful and most aren't phsyco aggro but robust enough to hang with the big boys. Good luck sounds fun!;)

could you get a school in with a dovii? i saw one the other day in a 200g tank and he didnt even like me 3 feet away from the tank he was trying to come through the glass and eat me! i would go with festae because they are currently my fav fish, but something big in a 600 thats not so agresive with schools would be another choice of mine. GL

You will have the most luck growing all the fish out together, but be prepared with a back up plan in case they do not tolerate each other when they are full grown. You may have more luck with an all male tank too as Trace said. I def think some schooling fish would look great may be clown loaches if you can find them large enough as the fish you have will most likely out grow small clown loaches very easily. Good Luck, can't wait to see pics once you have made your set up choices :)
