I've just picked up my 150x70x60 (LxWxH) tank, steel stand and a sump/wet-dry. I was planning on putting my 14" ornate bichir and 9" dat in there, with some silver dollars and maybe a few others. Lately I'm kinda leaning towards the idea of an amazon-themed community tank. Big pieces of driftwood, some big river rocks, sand substrate, stocked with around 6 uaru a, geophagus surinimensis and balzani, festivums, altum angels, flagtail, silver dollars or spotted metynnis, raphael cats, and some nice plecs. And my school of loaches as the one exception to the SA theme!
My loaches, ornate and dat are currently in a 48x20x20" tank, and the problem is my loaches need to be separated from the ornate as he's getting big enough to start picking them off. I could either keep the dat and the ornate in the 4' tank and set the amazon tank up in the big tank, or leave the loaches in the 4' and put the big ornate and dat into the big tank.
Buying another big tank isn't an option right now as we're still renting, but we will be buying a house and settling down in the next few years so I'll be able to get another large tank then. Help me make up my mind!!!!
