Things are maturing nicely in your system! Don't you run a sump?

No The reason is the setup of the appartment im in now. The system that i want would not fit under the stand so i use a canister that i clean 3 times a week. My water tests fine but if i get lazy and dont clean the filter, then i end up with a little bit of a nitrate issue lol. anyways my design would involve drilling holes throught the walls to plump in a refugium and dual sump. The reason im doing a dual sump is i wanted a way to increase the size and keep new coral, in the same water. basically a sump, refugium and CORAL QT all in one lol.

nice. In all the years that ive been keeping saltwater, ive never done a dual sump, so this will be my first. Ive setup sumps for a few of my buddies and they are pushing alot of water, with custom return setups. 70 gallong tank with a sump and skimmer rated for an average stock 300 is a pretty decent setup. Later i will be adding a seperate refugium to it. we shall see how that goes. come june, ill get some more pics up of my setup and let everyone know how its going.

Good luck with your project! Things will only get better when it is complete. My only concern being some of your more delicate corals, would they thrive under the buffeting of such a large turnover?
