650g carachin project

yo after a long search i figured out that i ll have a aquarium in my house with theme “More Teeth”. So here is the plan , 650g sand as substrate at the left side a very small driftwood (with no sharp edges) and 5-6 anubias. All the other ll be plain . For stock i m thinking 1 GATF 1 VATF 1 Armatus 1 Tatuia , trigrinus , 2 flag tails , a jag (which is the only fish i have from the list..) i ll try to find a dorado as well. I would like an arowana but i m not sure if my 400€ ll not be eaten.. (RTG) If you guys have any idea of fish i can mix in this project feel free to post. I m Channa lover but definately wont try to put a snakehead in there cause its gonna be bloodbath. It ll be my first no-snakehead aquarium. If the project goes wrong i ll make it micropeltes tank

What do i need to know about it since is my first carachins tank? I ve been reading the articles about them and got many infos about them. For sure some things i dont know..

Lol I don’t think a snake head will make it any more of a blood bath the is gonna be already. You end up with an armatus in the long run more than likely. First vatf will probably kill gatf then start with the tat and armatus. Armatus will pick on tat as wel probably and fight with vatf. Jag will try to challenge them and die from the damage they can do. Flag tails may get picked on cause they’re silver. Tig will be alright. Aro too. I’d expect all of this to start taking place once the characins hit 1’.

So you think i should stay only with armatus and nothing else? I means i would like to have a vittatus and a goliath too..

No. If the tank is gonna be under 4’ width I would go with vatf tat tig aro and the jag you already have. If you get an armatus or dorado they are likely to kill everything else eventually once they put enough size on. Gatf almost always gets bullied and eventually killed by vatf. Aside from
That armatus gatf and maybe the dorado after years and years, will outgrow the tank. They’ll require more width eventually. You said you can’t upgrade and want to keep them for life.
