i have a 65 gallon tank that has low light plants in it atm (water sprite, java moss, and java fern) I'm looking to do amazon swords, micro swords, and so on. I am looking at a couple different light set ups that I'm planing on getting next month or so. 1: 36in 192w PC 2: 36in 442w MH system 3: 36in 630w HM system. let me know what you all think! thanks!

MH is going to get very hot very quick, and cause lots of evaporation. Great penetration, but you will need to watch your nutrient levels closely, and pressurized co2 is going to be very important. PC is old and dead, go HO T5.
realy pc is dead? even tho you have less wattage with t5 ho?? think i saw a double t5 ho fixture that only had 48 watts or so. would that be enough for a 65g or do you still have to follow the 4-5 watts per gallon rule?
Read the stickies. A 48W dual linear 48" T5 would be NO T5, not HO T5. More watts does not mean more light.

PC is hardly "dead", but I agree that T5 HO is a better way to go . . . you should get better results long-term, and you should need fewer watts of T5 HO to get same results
You mean in terms of bigger set-ups right? It seems to me pc would still be a great option for smaller tanks ( < 10gal)? Am I wrong? Just because I'm planning a 5 gal with a pc since I can't find a 12" HO T5? Just want to make sure I'm planning the right way. Plus WyldFya I really value your opinion on stuff.
PCs are nice if you want a low to medium light setup. T5HO are right now the most efficient way to achieve high lighting. for a very small tank id go with PCs
