so I'm ordering some glass to build a 6x2x2 tank. My question is 13 mm glass thickness a good choice or is it overkill ? This is my first actual build. Ive resealed tanks and built sumps but that's about it . any experts on this ?

For 40+ years I've made 6 x 2 x 2 tanks using 10mm (3/8in) float glass with a double thickness bottom, and never had an issue with any of them. They were all braced 1in.below the top wit 10mm strips 2.5in wide.
