Last night a plane crashed into our neighborhood and took the power lines out with it. The power was out for 7 hours and I couldn't get home until after about 4 hours of no power. I tested my water and everything was fine. Power came back on and everything is back to normal but I'm curious if the BB in my filters could have died in that amount of time? Should I be concerned about a mini cycle or anything?

I'd test the water every few hours and watch the fish. If you see labored breathing you have a problem. I doubt the bacteria died in that amount of time as long as it was underwater.

Yeah I've been testing and so far so good. I kept priming the Fluval filters every hour to keep fresh water circulating through them and I took the biowheels out of the other two filters and floated them in the tank water.

You should be allright. Mine was out for a week this summer and all I did was a small water change everyday and everything was fine. I also ran a battery operated air stone on each tank.

Glad to hear you are okay.

Wassup with these planes falling out of the sky?

I lost power for a few hours two days ago but the only thing that was ill-effected was temperature.
