7-inch clown knife concern

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
7 inches probly 3 weeks. try floating pellets they wont find sinking food that well. Try tapping on the tank when your gonna feed i always knock twice to tellem foods in and at the surface. If your guy is super shy just remeber they are ultra low light fish so try feeding them when your tank light is off and your room light is on. once he develops a hump in his back he should get super aggressive with the food

How come it hasn't eaten? Are you trying to get it off live feeders or has it just not been eating?

It must have changed places....give it time. Mine ( although much bigger, has gone for 3 months without eating ).

DO NOT TAP ON THE TANK!!!!! That is a mistake, however lightly you tap......

I think it might be ick. I bought a trio of clown loaches to put in the tank and a few days afterwards ich broke out. I can see the spots on my severum and clown loaches, but not the knifefish. I'm thinking the ck may have ich though I don't see any spots on it because of its loss of appetite.

"Symptoms: Salt-like specks on the body/fins. Excessive slime. Problems breathing (ich invades the gills), clamped fins, loss of appetite."

I don't want it to starve to death, so I am concerned. Maybe I should try a different pellet food?

Well it's onlt been 1 and a half weeks, so I wouldn't be worring too much right now. Just make sure there is a varied diet in there so he can take a pick of a favourite, Like floating pellets, frozen foods, disabled feeders etc.

Just bump the temp up to 84F and add salt to get rid of the ick. And then you can probably keep the temp around 82F to keep things in check.

i wouldnt worry too much, like someone said its only been one and a half weeks, but i would def keep an eye on him
