Dear Members,

So as a few of you would recall, around Dec 2017 I had reached out to the members of Monster Fish Keepers and reauested your help to identify whther the fish that I was intending to pick was a XB or normal RTG. Post receiving your recommendations I reached out to Dev Venkatesh from Shades Aquazone in Chennai. To say I was blown away by what I experienced would be an understatement. Dev has one of the most brilliant collections of Arowana fishes in India today.

Anyway to summarize, I picked up a XB from him after checking with a RF Tag reader and drove down to Bangalore with my precious Arowana. I intended to share the pics of my 4ft tank at that time with the new Arowana however I got pulled into the new house that I was building. To say, the journey was smooth would be an understatement as the LFS guy who was assisting me to build my tank deserted my project mid way and in my hour of need I then turned to Vijay from Aquaverse in Bangalore. He was my life saver who not only helped to get my tank setup but also has been available to cater to any of emergencies.

So finally I am able to share the picture of my tank along with my fishes

The tank is 8ft in length, 28 inches in width and 2.5 ft in height and I am using a sump filtration for my tank. I currently have 1 Arowana, 4 Peacock Bass, 1 Pacu, 1 Giant Gorami and 2 local plecos in the tank.

Wanted to thank everyone for their support and advice and I look forward for your feedback.

Oh yes, forgot to mention that I have an 18 inch 8ft one piece acrylic sheet (pretty heavy) as my tank top. It takes two people with a slight effort to displace it hence I would say I got the top covered properly. Also we got multiple circular holes drilled on the top so that enables me to feed the fishes without having to open the lid.

That pacu is going to make your tank look small soon
Thats what I was thinking as well bit then my LFS guy mentioned that in this aquarium the Pacu would not grow beyond 2ft. So I guess till the time we can manage him we do plan to keep him. Would hurt to see him go but then I built this tank primarily for my Arowana so if the Pacu gets bigger than the tank then I guess I will have to find a pond for him.
