Hi I just got a 70 gallon and was wondering what cichlids to have. I was wondering about a pair of green terrors and one firemouth and some dithers. Thanks in advance

It has a chance. If the pair of GT's mate, you may end up with just that pair due to aggression. But would still make for a nice setup in a 70. I would give it a try.

A pair may work although a 70 is a bit of a tight fit. The firemouth would get killed by the pair so I'd say no on that.

Ok my dad kept green terrors with firemouth and a convict in 70 he said it be ok but I was trying to tell him they'd kill everything. If I brought them up at young age would agression be lowered
Yes that could work as long as you have dithers for a distraction and have adequate territories setup

I currently have a green terror, firemouth, and salvini in a 70 among some others. They are less than 5 inches. Plan to get larger tank. If this is only tank, might just stick with one terror, one firemouth, and another smaller yet robust cichlid to allow room for other fish like dithers or a pleco or algae eater. I actually have a blue gourami that is the biggest fish and second in aggression (wife). Good luck.
What I'm going to do is put a firemouth and green terror in and if green terror takes one end and the firemouth takes the other. And they don't the middle I will add a sajica or spilurum
