Are there any 700 to 1000 gallon tank owner out there? Looking to aks a few question aout lighting and filtrations.
For instance:
1. Along with my 80W UV sterilizer and wet dry system I am installing, are you using any canisters type filters and what type? I was using 3 magnum cnaitster filter on my 300 but now that I am going up to a 900 gal what is a single large canister type to use that will be enought for that size tank ?
2. Lighting requirement, at 4ft deep and 3ft wide, what is a good way to go for lighting with out breaking the bank, and keeping in mind i would like to try the lighitng with the white and blue lights?
Thanks

I have a 180g sump on my 750g. a supreme hy-drive 4800 and a mag 24 that is hooked up to a UV and on a timer that runs a few hours a day. One 2" drain goes to a drip tray with filter fabric on top and the other 2" drain goes to 2- filter socks. I have a ton of bio balls and bio matrix in the sump.
I use 3- 300 watt heaters and unplug them in the summer because the heat from the pumps keeps temp fine.

Okay I will have two sumps connected with tons of bio calls totaling 200 gallons but I am not sure what canister to use in conjuction for polishing the water for that crystal clear look. I also have a emperor 80 UV sterlizer to help.
What type of lighting are you using?

I dont know about the canisters on big tanks but I ran an FX5 on a 300g along with a sump and it was great.
I only have 1-48" strip and 2-36" strips with aquaglo bulbs and 2-40" NAN lights that I run periodically to bring out the red colors in the fish. I don't like my tank super bright so the 3 strips work well. They are not HO fixtures either. If you search my threads there is a video I posted if you want to get an idea

"Look into some commercial mech filters for hot tubs and pools."

Yes, I had heard this before, but was wondering if there was a aqau brand that was designed for this.

I to used 3 magnum canister on my 300gal, and it was awesome. So that's why I was wondering if there was a much larger canister that would be the way to go for a 1000, to go along with the 200gal sump I will be using.

Check into Ultima II 2000 or 4000 filters. A lot of large tank owners use Ultimas. I have never heard of anyone not liking their Ultima filters.

Is this the kind of lighting you're looking for?
