Do you see a problem with this idea? Yea they will start salt / brackish and be moved to high brackish but I know they are not as aggressive as say a fuhaka, and get only 6-7 inches. I used to have 4 of them in my 40 when I was way younger. But I figure it would give them about 60 gallons each

the only problem I see is you asking yourself why you did that. lmao. just get true saltwater puffers and make use of a great tank. I actually had 8 in my 125 salt when I was younger. once in a while a nipped tailfin but it looked like a bunch of blimps x bumblebees that acted like a pack of pitbulls

Yeah, i would just do full salt.
Panda puffer, starry puffer, dogface, spiny box, etc you could have a nice mix of puffers. Could even try adding dome of the "sharp nose" puffer species that stay smaller as well with the big dogs since they will have the rock to hide in.
