Milky Way Galaxy,
I have a 700g and might want to do rays. Its an indoor pond, and i have done my home work on these guys. I wanted to start with 2 females and 1 male. This is my first time getting into rays btw. What rays should i start off with? Perferably not with a hefty price tag. Ive seen hybrids made on here is it simple as just having the 2 diff species in the tank? Id really like a hybrid. Last question. Where can i buy from a breeder, lfs, online in las vegas? thanks guys.

I would start out with motoros, they are a hardier species of ray and are generally "easy" to care for in terms of rays. But what are the dimensions of your pond?

that is a mighty nice pond! they tend to be more likely to eat whatever you put in the tank, they are hardier than others and are pretty tough, but no matter what rays you have you will need a good filtration. The black rays, from the research I have done and post I have seen, are a lot of money and require near pristine conditions so I am getting my feet wet with somewhat "easier" rays to keep such as my retic and possibly a hystrix. If you wanted to get a smaller set of rays that won't bust the bank and won't grow as large you could do a small trio of reticulatas or hystrix rays
