70G tank

Hi i have a 48 by 18 tank. i have kept tangs for a while. i am tempted to try a mubuna tank, just wondering how many would go in that tank.

Are you willing to remove tangs? If that's the case.. make sure you put a lot of rocks and for a 70G it would be optimal to have 20-25 mbunas maybe lil less. I am a huge fan of overstocking african cichlids.. lol.. if your filteration is good... I would probably have 30-35.. but that's just me.

IMO, 75 (or 70 in your case) is the best size for a nice mbuna display tank.

3-4 species of more mild mbuna or 2-3 of larger/more aggressive types. Groups of 6-8 for most species.

Thanks. Do mubuna breed with any other mubuna or will they try to breed with their own type
