Hello,

I recently purchased a 72 gallon bow front aquarium, upgrading from a 29 gal. I want to put my wolf fish (6 in) jaguar cichlid (4.5 in) and my green terror (4 in). I also have a common pleco (5 in). Is this too much for this tank? Or do I have room to add somthign else to the mix? I am running 2 Aqua Clear 110 filters. Also I am in the process of cycling the aquarium. I currently have one of the AC 110's running in my 29 to accumulate some bacteria, do you think this will speed up the cycling process at all? Or am I just fooling myself?

Thanks for the help.

I would say you only really have room in that tank for one fish, perhaps two if you're really diligent and choose the smaller of the four fish. The wolf fish (Hoplias malabaricus) will outgrow a 72g so IMO it's not an option. The green terror will reach about 10", perhaps slightly more. The jaguar 12-14" and the plecostomus if it is a common will reach 12-18".
As for the cycle. Just move all the fish in the 29g over to the 72g along with the current filters on the 29g, and any gravel in the 29g. Keep the 29g tank's filter on the 72g till the filters on the 72g have had time to grow their own bacteria. Keep a close eye on parems.
