-So I thought I'd post a thread on here of my exploration into the world of the planted aquarium. Any advice is very welcome because although I have been reading up as much as I can about the parameters of the planted tank I am still in that "shock" phase at how much thought really goes into maintining a planted aquarium.
-Today I picked up all of the needed supplies except for Excel Flourish which I will be getting after I actually set everything up.
The Tank being converted:
72 Gallon Bowfront Oak Trim Aquarium
The Inhabitants:
7 Painted Tetras
5 Tiger Barbs
2 Bleeding Heart Tetras
2 Bala Shark
1 Baby Sen. Bichir
1 Black Ghost Knife Fish
1 Emerald Corycat
-I will document most steps that I take which will not be that many because I won't be using any type of CO2 diffusion system and the only thing DIY are the risers for the lights.
List of Conversion Supplies:
1 Shop Light
2 Phillips 48", 40 Watt Planted Aquarium Light Bulbs
1 Bag of Eco-Complete
1 50lb. Bag of Quickcrete Gravel
1 Expensive piece of driftwood
5 Plants- 2 Anubias, 1 Aqua Fern, 1 Peacock Fern & 1 Wysteria
1 Piece of Wood f/m my Basement which I cut into two Pieces and stained
