I'm Over Here Now
I have the perfecto 72" double light strip. Since thanksgiving I'v had to return 4 due to the switch breaking and now lastnight another broke. So I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with this product. It seems that I turn the light on then a few hours later it shuts off by itself then the switch will not work anymore. Getting really frustrated. Grrrrrrr

Yes I had 3 before I got one to work, I use a timer so do not use push button switch. I had starter problems and it looked to me as though they were rebuilt, lfs said not ordered as reconditioned but had a little discoloration around ends. I did not think it would discolor from just a test fire when being built..... my lfs just kept ordering more and called his distributor and said no more bad ones or they would have to upgrade. Got a good one then.

Yah I put mine on a timer after the second one and like I said earlier after its on for a few hours it just shuts off and the switch won't work at all. Lfs is getting pissed too cuz its an inconvenience for them as well.

I've actually had more than one of their led strips come in broken off the bat. Foster&Smith replaced them but it was a hassle.

well the double bright led lights came in today. the lighting effect is great, but here's the issues i have with doing 2- 3' strips to cover a 6' tank

1- have to have 2 lights -vs- 1
2- the power cords are on the ends of the light (imo the should be in the center) with the power and moonlight switches so with the low profile of the fixture the cords look crappy
3- had to do some fabing to allow for the lights to fit level and and keep lined up flush together
4- two strips (6 bulbs) of led lights are ligned up center of the front to back braces that the lids fit on blocking the light
