Ok well I'm afraid the time has come to part with my s/w setup. I think I've only had this setup in operation for 2~3 months but I'm already tired of it. I no longer want to invest anymore of my time and money into this. So I offer the complete setup for sale. I prefer to sell it as a complete unit but if it doesn't sell in a reasonable amount of time then I *might* part it out.
Tank: 72g bowfront (excellent condition) with built-in overflow & glass tops. Back painted light blue.
Stand: Matching bowfront black oak/pine
Lighting: Icecap 660 (heatsink, wire harness, 8 VHO end-caps)
Bulbs: 12 used (Aquasun, Super Actinic, URI Actinic White) "most are 4ft"
Sump: 20g aquarium with custom baffles (3 chambers, bubble trap, 2 towers) and light
Return pump: Mag 12
Heater: Ebo Jager
UV: 25-watt angstrom sterilizer (2 months on bulb plus 1 brand new spare)
Plumbing: Brand new PVC. Many ball valves, quick disconnects, and a check valve.
Skimmer: AeroFoamer 630 with Gen-x gx8500 pump, Waste container, extra beckett (good for 100~500g tank)
Rock: 2 5g pales full of baserock, a little rubble in the sump
Substrate: 1 5g pale of crushed coral
Algae: Cheato in sump.
Fish: kole tang, large foxface, coral beauty, 2 clowns, yellow wrasse, lunar wrasse, red brittle star, knobby starfish, coral banded shrimp, Sally lightfoot, large snail (bigger than a baseball!), and misc other snails (turbo, nassarius, nerite, conch's).
If you do the math you'll see this would cost you around $2,500 easily if you bought everything new. Heres a few examples. I think the tank, stand, and factory tops are around $600 (a guess). The complete skimmer setup is $750. Icecap $150. Roughly around $300 for all the fish/inverts. $100 in plumbing/fittings, $100 for the mag 12, $75 for the UV sterilizer (plus extra bulb), probably at least a couple hundred bucks for all the rock and CC. Then theres still all the used bulbs, extra UV bulb, sump, and so on.
It's a really nice setup! The tank glass is in excellent condition and NO leaks. The original glass tops are included which are hard to find. I designed the plumbing so that it can be completely taken apart without any cuts being needed. I put the quick disconnects in key spots to allow the plumbing to be broken into sections. Various quick disconnects and a one-way valve for the return. The sump has 3 main chambers with 2 water towers (as I call them). One is behind the skimmer chamber and is for the tank overflow with a sponge below. The other tower is behind the refugium chamber and is for the skimmer and UV return. A bubble trap is before the return chamber. The return splits into duals and outputs in the tank with PVC spray bars (PVC pipe with holes drilled in them). The light fixture is kind of redneck looking. I just threw together a quick 2x4 setup and it ended up being a perm fix since I lost interest. It doesn't look nice but holds 2 bulbs. Everything works as it should and the fish are happy. They eat good and are pretty active. The janitors do a great job on keeping the tank clean especially the glass. You can have the remaining frozen fish food (brine shrimp and krill) and 1/2~3/4 bucket of reef crystals salt. Also a digital thermometer, hydrometer, power heads (just cheap ones), fish net, medium mag-float, and possibly other stuff that I find.
Need more pics? Just ask. All I got is my cell-phone to snap the shots.
Asking $1,000 or possibly best REASONABLE offer
