75 and 135 gallon updates

heres a video of myu 75 gallon with a pair of red devils. males 7.5" and females about 5". hes still pretty rough on her but she escapes pretty easily from him. hoping they bond alittle better and spawn for me soon

Both the devils and and the freds are absolutely stunning looking! Very nice job!
 
In love with those freds! I don't know what it is about parachromis but from my observation they tend to have strong pair bonds.

thank you very much. what i have noticed with parachromis pairs is that females are very equal and sometimes the dominate fish in the pair which i believe keeps the male in check. when it comes to most other species like fastae umbee and some amphilophus including my devils the males are for sure in charge and they do whatever they want including bash on females at will and the females are basically defenseless to their attacks due the size decrepancy in most pairs. just something ive noticed. read that with mel o mears dovii pair the female which is half the size of the 26" male wears the pants and can sometimes be rough on the male. i had the same thing with my jags and a previous dovii pair where the female was more in charge
