Right now we have a 37 gallon tank. We have one guppy, one platy, one angel, two bristlenose plecos, two spotted climbing perch, one peacock eel, and a black ghostknife. We have only had the ghostknife for about two months, we bought him small knowing that we were planning to upsize soon. Here is our dilemna: we live in a two story house and we like to have the tank in our bedroom, which is on the second floor. We are worried that when we get a much bigger tank our fish may experience a quick, messy, and unplanned move to the first floor. :WHOA: That being said, for this amount of fish, would a 75 gallon tank be adequate? My husband has done the math and decided that with the way our floor joists run, this would be the maximum sized tank we can keep upstairs. Any advice/opinions would be appreciated. We have only had fish for about a year, we started with a 15 gallon, but just keep getting reeled in by neat fish.

Sounds good, i think it will work without problems. I've had one upstairs for years.

You might wanna get a small tank for the platy and guppy they may not last long in that tank.

They were cycle fish. I was hoping the would get eaten, but they are still going strong a year into it. Sookie, our biggest spotted climbing perch, should be able to eat them by now, but doesn't seem interested. We keep everyone well fed with gut loaded ghost shrimp, red wigglers, and some pellets recommended by out lfs.

usally BGK are slow grows, but IMO a 75 is the least for just him. Couldnt you maybe do a 55 community type in your bedroom and have the 75 down stairs with the Ghost knife. just ideals, maybe you could ask about your knife in the section for them, you may get more responeses. anyway, tanks are always good in the bedroom to put me asleep. :)
