OK! So, my 75 is going brackish (God/checkbook willing!).

I have a few questions.

1. What is the best type of filter to use OTB, Canister, or _______?
I have a Marineland H.O.T. Magnum filter ordered from Foster and
Smith.com, and on my 90-1 Penguin BIOwheel 350, and a Marineland
400 that could be re-arranged as needed...OR I'm open to other ideas!

2. How is the best way to raise salinity in a tank? And what
salinity is best for banded archers(Toxotes jaculatrix)?
The 75 is empty ATM, but was going to set it up and slowly
raise the salinity.

3. What is the best salt to use?
I know the plain aquarium salt is a NO-NO! The BF uses Tropic
Marin for his salt set up, would that technically be fine?

4. What are some plants/other tank mates that would be suitable
for the tank size and salinity requirements of archers? (also, what
group size is best for the archers and anything else mention worthy
as tank mates)

If you have pics you want to share I'd love to see your brackish tanks too!
Thanks in advance!!!

No thoughts? :(

TM is one of the most $$$ around. For BW, I'd go with the cheapest marine salt you can find.

I have 3 archers in my 130, They have a ton of tankmates and never bother any of them. I have mono's a ruby scat, 2 gsp"s an f8, a jade goby(temp) some mollies and haven't had any problems with aggression. - as far as plants I haven't tried any, from what i read not many can handle brackish water. except mangroves
