Just got a 75 gallon and im debating on what to use. My options are either an fx6 or an eheim 2217 and an ac110. I would have to buy the ac110 right now i have an ac50

An FX6 will be plenty. You may need to diffuse the output a bit as it may get pretty windy in that tank. The AC110 is never a bad compliment to any filtration system. If you have the 2217, why not use it as well?

The issue is i already have the fx and the 2217. I am getting a 2262 and replacing the fx6 with it. Upgrading another tank too so i will have the 2217, fx6, and ac50 to spare.

I would need to purchase the 110. If i go ac/2217 i can easily get to the purigen foe recgarging.
If i go with the fx i probably wont need to clean it more than once or twice a year

Went with the ac110 and 2217 combo. Keep getting sand in the ac. I had a prefilter on it but i thinknthe foam isnt fine enough.

How low to the sand are you running the extension tubes? I like to run them as low as i can but would try taking the bottom one off if i had that issue.

I ended up swapping out the black sand for pfs.

I had 2 rena xp3's and a 18watt green machine uv light. I had it stocked with piranha. Water was legit crystal clear to a point it didn't look like there was water in it....
