My fish room
I was given a 75 gallon tank and I can't decide what to put in it. I like larger predatory fish but I know I can't put anything too big in it. I am not interested in using it as grow out tank so it will have to be somebody's permanent home. I am not really a cichlid or piranha guy (blasphemy, I know).

Any suggestions on what to get once it is cycled and ready to go?

You want a larger predatory fish, that is not a cichlid or piranha, and will fit in a 75.
Good luck.

Just kidding. Get some bichirs.

Bichirs are a good idea.

How about some of the Dwarf pike cichlids they only get about 6" and display excellent predatory behavior?!?!?!?

Native sunfish or a pickerel. Just don't expect a lot of movement from a pickerel except at feeding time, then all hell is unleashed.

I am going to have to read up on Grass Pickerels. They remind me of my arch nemisis while fishing, the Muski.

Why not an Africa Riverine Tank? With butterfly fish on top, cetenopoma, and sengal birchir on the bottom. You can also add African brown knife, or an elephant nose. Oh, and maybe a pair of buffalo head cichlids. Should be a fun tank to watch.
