75 gallon catfish tank

Hey everyone I swear this is my last thread for a while but anyways I have finally made a final decision on what I am doing with my 75 gallon! Well I am trying to put together a community with pretty much all catfish! So far I am thinking something like this stocking!
8 upside down catfish
4 pictu s catfish
3-5 pygmy leopard catfish
2 angelfish
8 marble hatchet
1 bristlenose pleco
Will that work out do you think Or will my tank not offer enough bottom space just wanting to see all your thoughts !
 
If no one can eat anyone in terms of sizes, that may work fine. 75 gal should be roomy for this stock. I'd probably get at least 6 pictus.
 
well thanks for the reply! I only want 3 pictus just because they do get larger and I don't want to cramp them to much. I might bump up the synodontis Petricola to 7 and bump the hatchet fish to 10!
 
Pictus do best in large groups usually, the larger, the better. I'd expect you won't see much of your synos of either kind - they will hide a lot - but the pictus will entertain you to no end if you set up the tank right for them. At the max size of 5", they should not cramp in a 75.
 
Ok sounds good to me I always thought that big groups of the synos I mentioned with tons of hiding places and dim lights they would show themselves?
 
They should but compared to pictus, they will be glimpses. But many people like synos more. It's a judgment call, I'd say.

well the js for the advice I just love the look of tha pygmy leopard catfish they are very nice looking and I'm thinking about bumping the coitus school to 5 with the angels and tetras should it be ok?

Sounds fine but really having never kept either angels or tetras, I can't say much that'd be worth reading.

As for the "coitus school", perhaps I am too dense or perverted (do clarify, please) but are you looking to make it into someone's signature? I note MFK-ers are enchanted with a funny quote, maybe a bit too much. :)
